Data from the quote request form

The quote request form is not active on this site yet. This section describes how it will work once it is, and applies to any request submitted through it.

When you submit the form, you provide information about your lab and your project, plus your name, work email, company, role and optionally your phone number.

• Purpose. This data is used to understand your request well enough to match it with relevant ELN vendors, and to contact you about it.
• Recipients. I review every request myself first. With your explicit agreement (the consent checkbox on the form), it is then shared with up to three vendors that fit what you’ve described. It is never shared with more than three vendors, and never shared at all without that consent.
• Retention. Quote request data is kept for 24 months from submission, after which it is deleted unless you ask for earlier deletion or a new request extends the period.
• Legal basis. Your consent, given explicitly on the form before submission.
• Where it’s stored. Submissions are processed by a server-side script on this site’s hosting and relayed to a spreadsheet used to track and qualify requests; see Legal for hosting details.

Anti-spam and security measures

The quote form includes basic anti-abuse measures (a hidden trap field, a minimum fill time, and a rate limit per IP address). Where an IP address is checked for the rate limit, it is only ever stored as a one-way hash, never in a form that could identify you directly, and only long enough to enforce that limit.

Site analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages are useful.

• Nothing happens until you accept. Google Consent Mode starts with every storage category denied. Before you answer the banner, no analytics cookie is written and no measurement is sent. Refusing leaves the site fully functional — nothing is withheld behind consent.
• If you accept, Google Analytics writes cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to recognise a returning browser, and records page views and navigation. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage, and we have not enabled any advertising or remarketing feature: advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied whatever you choose.
• Recipient. Google, as our processor. Google may transfer data outside the European Union under the transfer mechanisms it publishes. Analytics data is retained for no longer than 14 months.
• Legal basis. Your consent, given on the banner.
• Changing your mind. Use the Analytics choice link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as accepting, and takes effect immediately.

Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie — it would make little sense to set a cookie in order to record that you declined them.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, or delete the data you’ve submitted, or ask how it’s been used. To exercise any of these rights, see Contact. If you’re not satisfied with the response, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (France’s data protection authority).
