Who publishes this site

The Best ELN is published and edited by Thibaut Desseignes, operating as a sole trader (entreprise individuelle) registered in France under SIREN 829 859 644, based in Mouans-Sartoux.

I have spent close to six years in laboratory software, most recently as head of marketing and sales at a custom software vendor, where part of my role was benchmarking ELN and LIMS platforms for prospective clients. That’s where the idea for this site came from: teams researching an electronic lab notebook mostly find vendor marketing pages, generic listicles, or comparison sites that are themselves paid by the vendors they rank.

What this site is part of

The Best ELN is one of a small network of laboratory-software publications I run:

Where an article on labsoftwareguide.com covers the same vendor as a fiche here, that article was a starting point for research, not a source to copy from: every fact on this site is independently re-verified and restructured into the format described on Methodology.

How this site makes money

The Best ELN does not charge vendors for a listing, a better position in a table, or a favorable verdict. Revenue, if any, comes from quote referrals: when someone submits a quote request, I review it and, with the person’s explicit agreement, pass it to up to three matching vendors. Vendors do not pay to be included in that shortlist, and paying vendors does not change what a vendor’s fiche says. See Privacy for how quote request data is handled.
